Parkview Medical Center Invites Women on a Whimsical Journey to Health at an Enchanting Affair
Parkview Medical Center is hosting its fifth annual Spirit of Women, signature fall event on Thursday, October 10 at Colorado State University-Pueblo, Occhiato Ballroom. The Enchanting Affair themed event, will be a fun, whimsical and information-filled day designed to move women towards better health and vibrant living by providing education in fanciful fashion. The luncheon and keynote speaker will take place from 11:30am to 1:30pm, but attendees will be encouraged to come early or stay late to partake in the many other activities the day holds.
The daytime event includes a fabulous fall lunch; an inspirational presentation; exclusive shopping with Spirit of Women Business Reward Partners; Dessert with the Docs; screenings by Parkview Mobile Nurses; and an informative breakout session on migraines. The luncheon will feature Fundamentally Female keynote speaker, Renee Rongen. Acclaimed speaker and storysmith, Renee Rongen will take the audience on a sidesplitting safari to hunt and capture the elusive, universal spirit of every woman. She is an accomplished author and her newest work titled Fundamentally Female, released last October, was featured in the Oscar Swag Bags for all female nominees and will also be available for purchase at the event.
For those planning to take full advantage of the event, screenings will be available from 10am to 11:20am, and again from 1:30pm to 3pm. Screenings will include body mass index; blood pressure checks; bone density and flu vaccines (additional $20 fee). Parkview will have experts from Diabetes Care Center; Nutrition Services; Joint Center; Breast Health Navigator; Mammography; and Lung Function on hand to provide valuable information and answer questions. Dr. Ruzkowski, Dr. Cohen and Sandy Nebl from Parkview Physician Services will also be available for “Ask a Doc” at the event. Dr. Cohen will be hosting a breakout session on Migraines at 2pm. In addition to valuable and relevant education, women will also enjoy shopping several of Parkview’s Spirit of Women Business Reward Partners.
An Enchanting Affair is Spirit of Women’s fall signature event and has been educating women for 8 years and gaining momentum. The 70 host hospitals, in cities all over the US, are working toward the same goal – inspiring and empowering women to see their healthcare provider each year and get the appropriate/recommended screenings and assessments.
Health education, health screenings, flu vaccines, Ask a Doc and fun activities will be woven throughout the day to emphasize the importance of staying on top of your health. An Enchanting Affair is organized and hosted by Parkview Medical Center, a member of the Spirit of Women Hospital Network, with local sponsors, Spradley Auto Network, Kaiser Permanente, Colorado State University-Pueblo, KOAA and Real Deals as well as national support provided by Good Housekeeping magazine.
The cost to attend the event is $25 for Parkview Spirit of Women members, $35 for non-members and corporate tables are available for $400.
