Just Like Your Little Black Dress, Parkview Reminds Good Health Looks Good on Everyone – and Never Goes Out of Style

Parkview Medical Center is hosting its sixth annual Spirit of Women, signature fall event on Thursday, October 23 at Pueblo Convention Center. The Little Black Dress (LBD) themed event will be a fun, stylish and information-filled evening designed to move women towards better health and vibrant living by providing education in fanciful fashion. Put on your favorite LBD, bring the girls and join Parkview from 5:30 to 8pm to learn the latest on women’s health & wellness, while enjoying shopping, appetizers, signature wine, Keynote Speaker- Dr. Sheri Prentiss and a Fashion Show sponsored by Susan G Komen SE Colorado and Dillard’s.

The spirited event includes fabulous fall appetizers; exclusive shopping with Spirit of Women Business Reward Partners and vendors; Parkview Medical Group Physicians; an opportunity to schedule your annual mammogram; a photo booth for Girls’ Night Out photos; special Broncos vs. the Chargers viewing area; health education and an inspirational survivors fashion show sponsored by Susan G Komen SE Colorado, featuring local breast cancer survivor models with fashions provided by Dillard’s.

The evening’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Sheri Prentiss. Dr. Sheri, a physician and breast cancer survivor, will share the lessons learned from her life-changing battle with breast cancer. Quick witted, sparkly and compassionate, Dr Sheri recently released her memoir “When Everything Changed: My Journey from Physician to Patient.” The gripping tale conveys Dr. Sheri confronting her frailty in one loss after another, climbing from self-examination to self-discovery, arriving face to face with herself, her power and her God. Now a champion of survival, Dr. Sheri’s focus is no longer what she has lost, but what remains. She persuades fellow terminal patients and their families to L.I.V.E. – Love, Inspire, Voice and Enjoy every day.

“Little Black Dress is a unique, festive event designed for women to come together while simultaneously learning about critical health and wellness information. We all know that good health is your best fashion accessory and women will leave this event ready to activate positive change for themselves and their families,” said Tanya Abreu, President and Chief Visionary Officer, Spirit of Women Hospital Network.

Little Black Dress is organized and hosted by Parkview Medical Center, a member of the Spirit of Women Hospital Network, with support provided by Good Housekeeping magazine. Local sponsors of the event include: Spradley Auto Network; Pueblo Convention Center; Susan G Komen for the Cure SE Colorado; News Channel 13; and Courtyard Marriott.

The cost to attend the event is $15 for Parkview Spirit of Women members, $20 for non-members. To register, visit www.parkviewmc.org. Tickets are also available at the event.
