Parkview Medical Center First Colorado Hospital to Join US Army PaYS Program

Parkview Medical Center and the US Army will host a special signing ceremony on Wednesday, May 27th at 2pm. The ceremony is in celebration of Parkview joining the US Army Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program. The ceremony will be held in the courtyard near Parkview’s main entrance on 400 W. 16th Street and will conclude with a traditional military cake cutting.
PaYS is a unique program designed to prepare, train and connect Soldiers to future employers. PaYS Soldiers are guaranteed a job interview with a PaYS partner of their choice after completing their Reserve training or first term of service. Soldiers who participate in the program gain valuable leadership, technical skills and experience. The PaYS Program provides employers with a pool of highly skilled, motivated and professional candidates from which they may fill their personnel needs. More importantly, the Army benefits by gaining valuable industry partners who acknowledge the Army as a quality producer of skilled employees and PaYS partners gain employees who have developed professional work habits with positive instilled values and the highest standards of conduct.

Parkview is proud to be the first hospital is Colorado to become a partner in the PaYS Program. “PaYS is an exemplary program that encourages youth to select work experiences that offer networking and employment opportunities upon return to Pueblo,” explained Maryalicia Verdecchia, Parkview’s Talent Acquisition Manager. “PaYS is another avenue to create a homegrown workforce that provides our community and Parkview Medical Center quality candidates with soft skills, valuable occupational skills, and strong work ethic. This partnership is a testament to Parkview’s commitment to the military and recognition of those skills obtained while serving.”
The PaYS Program is a strategic partnership between the US Army and a cross section of corporations, companies and public sector agencies. The Program provides America’s youth with an opportunity to serve their country while they prepare for their future.
