The best part of my day
It all started back in high school, I knew I wanted to do something medical with my life. As college approached, I received my EMT-Basic and was hooked. After completing my first bachelor degree at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in Biology, minor in Sociology, and a Certificate in Career and Academic Professionalism I headed off to medical school.
During my third year of medical school, I began to realize the favorite part of my day was spending time with my patients. And thus, my career in nursing began. I received my second bachelor degree as a Registered Nurse at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
Parkview was a perfect fit. I love volunteering in the community, and Parkview appreciates those same things. As a new graduate nurse I wanted to be involved in the workplace, increase my skill set, and do what I was meant to do for my patients. I wanted to be a Float Pool RN
I am currently an RN-II, Float Pool SEA, Float Pool CLABSI Champion, and VP of the Float Pool Unit Council Practice. In addition, I brought my father, Jeff Roskam, to be part of the Parkview team and he was able to help establish The Pharmacy at Parkview. I am so very proud to work along side him and his staff everyday. As a result of my experiences up to this point in my life, I am truly blessed and embrace the new opportunities in store for my future.
