Parkview Homecare one of three agencies in the nation to be
Top 100 all four years
PUEBLO, Colo. (November 4, 2009)--- November is National Homecare month and Parkview Homecare has received a designation that kicks off the month in perfect fashion. Parkview Medical Center’s Homecare department has been named to the Homecare Elite™, a compilation of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States. In addition to the Homecare Elite designation, Parkview also ranks among the Top 100 Homecare provider agencies in the nation. Outcome Concepts Systems (OCS) and DecisionHealth®, have compiled the HomeCare Elite list for the past four years and Parkview Homecare has been in the Top 100 each year.
Parkview Homecare was one of only 3 agencies nationwide who made the Top 100 list four years in a row, putting Parkview Homecare in the top 1% of agencies in the nation. No other agency west of the Mississippi repeated on the Top 100 list 4 years in a row.

In order to create the list of HomeCare Elite agencies, OCS used publicly available data from Home Health Compare and the CMS Cost Reports. Three domains of performance were included in the calculation of the score – Quality of Care, Quality Improvement, and Financial Performance.
Each agency’s performance in each of the three domains was compared against the performance of other organizations in their state and in the country. The three domains were combined into one overall score, using a weighting methodology that gives the greatest importance to Quality of Care. The top 25% of agencies in each region, both hospital-based and free-standing, were identified and added to the national list. Additionally, the top 100 and 500 agencies in the country, based on overall score, were identified and highlighted for further recognition.
The 2009 HomeCare Elite is the only performance recognition of its kind in the home health industry.
