(September 20, 2007)--- Parkview Medical Center has recently joined Spirit of Women, a network of more than 120 premier hospitals and health systems throughout the United States dedicated to advancing the cause of women’s healthcare. It brings together traditional women's health with a diverse range of healthier lifestyle, preventative care and educational programs with an ongoing emphasis on women's health and well being. This exciting program will promote Parkview as the regional leader in women’s health education and community outreach.

Spirit of Women is a national movement for women’s wellness led by local leading hospitals such as Parkview and supported by corporate partners and national media with the mission to motivate women to make positive changes in their lives by emphasizing their total well-being–mind, body, and spirit. Parkview supports the ongoing celebration of women's health through Spirit of Women because we believe that knowledge and community support are key to wellness. Women make nearly 80% of all healthcare decisions for their families, and we want those decisions to include Parkview.

Through Spirit of Women, Parkview offers a wide variety of activities and events such as educational programs with nationally recognized speakers, athletic and recreational activities, health screenings, workshops and a consumer membership program.
