(Pueblo, CO November 9, 2011) – Parkview Medical Center has added Hitachi’s Oasis™ High-Field Open Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging system to its list of comprehensive diagnostic offerings. Oasis has an accommodating design that reassures patients, as well as a broad range of clinical capabilities and features to meet the demand of today’s diagnostic imaging professionals. The system will be available to Parkview patients in mid-November.

The 1.2 Tesla Oasis Open MRI with its open architecture vertical field magnet provides maximum diagnostic performance and uncompromised patient comfort. Open MRI has historically been an option for large patients and patients with claustrophobia who have challenges tolerating the confinement of the traditional bore-type MRI. The Oasis system now combines the comforts of open MRI with high field strength technologies that deliver high quality images to referring physicians for confident diagnosis. The system has unobstructed viewing angle which lowers patient anxiety, decreases scan time and improves image quality.

The Oasis is the most powerful Open MRI system available and combines a comfortable patient experience with powerful technology to make imaging procedures as quick and easy as possible. The new Open MRI is comparable to high-filed, closed bore systems in its capability to deliver all of the most advanced imaging applications ranging from vascular, to orthopedic, to women’s imaging, including guidance for breast biopsy.
