Parkview Medical Center
has earned the Joint Commission's
Gold Seal of Approval.

92, 000 square feet dedicated to keeping you on yours.

Parkview Medical Center’s opening of the new expansion to the hospital offers customer’s convenience, more private rooms, as well as an enhanced healing environment. A grand opening celebration, to unveil the state-of-the-art facility, was held Tuesday, June 15.

“This expansion has enhanced Parkview’s ability to provide the quality of care that Southern Colorado has come to expect when they enter our doors,” explained Mike Baxter, Parkview Medical Center President and Chief Executive Officer.

Parkview is creating a healthcare environment featuring patient-friendly accommodations, including 54 new private rooms. Private rooms offer a faster placement in the transfer from the emergency room to a medical floor as well as reducing infection rates. The new rooms have been decorated with warm tones, wood flooring and artwork to give patients a homelike environment to enhance the healing process.

The addition also offers the convenience of a centrally located gift shoppe and café at the main entrance off of Grand Avenue. The café will also now offer outdoor seating for the entire neighborhood to enjoy. Valet parking will be moved back to the main entrance for easy access to the medical center as well as the emergency room. Valet hours will now be from 5:30 am to 8:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Parkview is appreciative of the neighborhood’s patience during the $34 million dollar expansion that added a total of 92,000 square feet to the medical center. Beginning on Wednesday, June 16, the public is encouraged to use the new main entrance on Grand Avenue for entering the medical center.

Parkview was founded in 1923 when six local physicians saw a need for a north side hospital in Pueblo after the Great Flood in 1921. Parkview has been serving the community since then, and expanding to meet the needs of our community which includes this project. This premier 6-story tower adds 54 private rooms to the medical center, increasing licensed beds to 350. This is the ninth major expansion to the original facility since 1923.

H&L Architecture designed the building and Bassett Construction Company was the contractor.
