Your Connection:
Parkview Medical Center offers free wireless Internet access for guests and visitors. Wireless access is available at this time throughout the main facility. Wireless access allows guests to use their own wireless-equipped laptop computers to surf the web, check e-mail and chat with friends and family. Guests can get work done or connect with loved ones while at Parkview.
Your Computer:
To access the wireless network, you’ll need a laptop computer equipped with an Internet browser and a wireless-enabled device that conforms to the 802.11b or 802.11g standards. The SSID of the hospital’s guest network is PVGUEST.
If you are unsure of your equipment’s functionality, please contact the manufacturer of your equipment. Our Information Services Department (IS) does not provide technical support for guest or patient’s equipment. Guest and patients should understand how to configure their own portable computers and know what hardware or software is necessary to connect with the wireless.
We are unable to offer printers or loaner equipment.
Your Hospital’s Privacy:
The wireless network is separate from Parkview Medical Center’s secure network. This will prevent unauthorized access to confidential patient information or other sensitive material.
Internet cameras and personal wireless access points are strictly forbidden on this network.
Your Security:
The wireless network is not a secure environment. Passwords and the exchange of personal information over the Internet should be used with caution. We encourage you to have your laptop equipped with virus protection software and/or firewall protection. Parkview Medical Center is not liable for any hardware or software damage while accessing the wireless network.
There are no time limits on the length of time you can stay connected to our complimentary Internet access service. Since we are providing this service as a courtesy, we cannot guarantee its quality or availability.
Your Use:
The wireless network is not to be used for inappropriate or unlawful purposes. When using the wireless connection, be courteous of those around you, any audio should be at a low or muted volume. If using a laptop power cord be sure not to obstruct or endanger patients, visitors or employees.
