Parkview Medical Center Challenges Women to Be Dazzled by their Health at Spirit Girls’ Night Out®

Who: Parkview Medical Center
What: Spirit of Women Girls’ Night Out
Where: Pueblo Convention Center, 320 Central Main St
When: Thursday, October 18 from 5pm to 8pm.

(Pueblo, CO) –– Parkview Medical Center is hosting its fourth annual, fashion-forward, fabulous and dazzling Spirit Girls’ Night Out to inspire women to love the person they are every day. On Thursday, October 18, the hospital will welcome women to this event that will teach them how to get their groove back, hug their curves and face the woman in the mirror. This fun and informative event is designed to move women towards better overall health and vibrant living by providing education on breast health, heart health, influenza vaccines and Parkview’s Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.

In addition to valuable and relevant education, women will also enjoy shopping with numerous vendors, a photo booth sponsored by ParkWest Imaging, Breckenridge Distillery will be providing a signature drink specifically designed for the event, weigh your handbag station and much, much more. Parkview was recently designated, by the American College of Radiology, as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, and will be on hand to schedule your annual mammogram. Women who schedule that night will receive a special gift.

Although the primary goal of Spirit Girls’ Night Out programs are to educate women about making well informed decisions about their health, it is the action steps that follow that are the real reward. In 2011, 43 percent of attendees made an appointment with a healthcare provider as a result of something that they learned. “These events allow women to come together in a trusted healthcare environment for information presented in an empowering format,” said Tanya Abreu, President and National Program Director, Spirit of Women Hospital Network. “When you present this education in a dazzling way, women leave ready to activate change that can positively impact their lives and the lives of their families.”

Spirit Girls’ Night Out is gaining momentum with over 75 hospitals in cities all over the US working toward the same goal – inspiring and empowering women to be okay with who they are and encourage action over their health and the health of their families.

Health education, health screenings, flu vaccines, Ask a Doc and fun activities will be woven throughout the evening to emphasize the importance of these health issues. This “don’t miss” event will be held at Pueblo Convention Center.

Spirit Girls’ Night Out is organized and hosted by Parkview Medical Center, a member of the Spirit of Women Hospital Network, with local sponsors, Susan G. Koman, Rocky Mountain PBS, Spradley Auto Network, DiSanti Farms and ParkWest Imaging as well as national support provided by Good Housekeeping magazine and Novo Nordisk.
