Parkview Medical Center and Mt. San Rafael Hospital Join Forces to Improve Health of the Community
Parkview Medical Center and Mt. San Rafael Hospital today announced a new affiliation agreement focused on enhancing the quality of healthcare for residents in Trinidad and the surrounding region. The agreement is structured for both organizations to collaborate to develop and share best practices.
While the agreement is new, there has been a strong relationship in place between Parkview Medical Center and Mt. San Rafael Hospital for many years. Both facilities have maintained agreements with hospital management company QHR and have worked closely together for several years.
The affiliation will give nurses the opportunity to gain access to specialty training and education. Nurses from both facilities will work side-by-side to share best practices. As Mt. San Rafael looks to expand services, nurses will be coming to Parkview for training in critical care as well as other specialty areas of focus. Parkview Medical Center’s residency program will be adding a residency training rotation at Mt. San Rafael allowing the residents an opportunity to provide care in a smaller community environment while giving the hospital additional physician coverage.
“We are excited about the engagement between Parkview and Mt. San Rafael,” explained Mike Baxter, Parkview President and CEO. “Formalizing our new relationship with this agreement will lead to better continuity of care for patients who can now rely on both providers to keep them closer to home. Improving overall care quality is the end goal, and having this mutually beneficial agreement in place should bring additional stability to Mt. San Rafael Hospital.”
“We are thrilled to announce this new agreement with Parkview,” said Bob Quist, CEO of Mt. San Rafael Hospital. “By expanding our working relationship with Parkview we have the opportunity to provide greater training opportunities and resources for our Hospital team, while maintaining our focus on providing quality healthcare to each and every one of our patients. We are grateful for this expanded partnership opportunity and look forward to seeing the benefits for the citizens of our communities.”
