Parkview Plays “Here Comes the Sun” When a COVID-19 Patient is Discharged for Home

(Pueblo, CO, May 1, 2020) – Parkview Medical Center will now play hospital-wide, “Here Comes the Sun” when a COVID-19 patient is discharged for home.

When a patient is discharged, the song “Here Comes the Sun” is overheard throughout the hospital.  The nurses and healthcare workers on the unit clap and celebrate. 

“We want to highlight the successes of treating this virus,” stated Renee Elwell, Chief Nursing Officer for Parkview Medical Center.  “This code is an opportunity to send well-wishes to our patients who have fought courageously.”   

Parkview is encouraging everyone to help save lives by practicing social distancing and washing their hands frequently.
