Parkview and CSU Pueblo Expand Exclusive Partnership to Assist With COVID-19 Efforts
PUEBLO, October 28, 2020― Parkview has joined forces with Colorado State University Pueblo to assist with their COVID-19 testing efforts.
Parkview will provide medical staff to administer COVID-19 testing to the men’s and women’s basketball teams, wrestling team, coaches, and athletic trainers. The COVID-19 testing expands the partnerships in place with the Department of Athletics and the School of Nursing.
“We are excited to collaborate with the CSU Pueblo Athletic Department to assure their student-athletes and coaches can practice and compete safely. As the exclusive medical provider for the Athletic Department, it made complete sense to enhance our partnership and work through this pandemic together,” stated Leslie Barnes, President and CEO or Parkview Medical Center.
Testing will occur two times a week at the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl. The testing will follow Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference guidelines so teams are eligible to compete in conference play.
"Maintaining a safe and secure environment is our top priority and we are so grateful to Parkview for providing the COVID-19 testing needed for our competing winter sports. Parkview continues to rise up and provide us with outstanding services. Our partnership is 'second to none' and I am so thankful for all they do for Pack Athletics. Their testing support will help us fulfill testing requirements while providing a safe experience for all," state Paul Plinske, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics for CSU Pueblo.
Testing will begin early November and go through December 18th of 2020.
