Parkview Continues Vaccination Efforts
Late last week, the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine arrived at Parkview. In an effort to get Parkview to immunity, vaccines began the morning of Monday, December 28th. The vaccines arrived at perfect timing as the hospital concluded their first round of Pfizer vaccines last week. Approximately 1,000 Pfizer vaccines were given to front line employees.
There were 2,500 vaccines in the Moderna shipment and they will be administered to medical staff, employees, medical and nursing students and volunteers at the hospital throughout the week.
“I could not be more proud of our team and how they continue to care for our community during a global pandemic. This vaccine is hope for moving forward not only in Pueblo but for the world,” stated Leslie Barnes, President and CEO of Parkview. “Our work is not done and we must stay diligent on wearing masks, social distancing and washing hands. If we continue to work together, I am confident this vaccine will provide much needed relief to the community.”
The vaccine is not mandated by Parkview for employees to receive.
Parkview encourages everyone to follow state and local restrictions to keep themselves and loved ones safe through the New Year.
