Baxter Promoted to Director of nursing unit at new Parkview Pueblo West.
(PUEBLO, April 15, 2021) – Parkview has announced the promotion of Ruth Baxter as Director for the Nursing Unit at the new Parkview Pueblo West.
“Ruth has worked closely with the Orthopedic Surgeons and her staff on 5 East to develop our current hip and knee replacement program. Her dedication to this program is one of the reasons it’s been so successful,” stated Renee Elwell, Chief Nursing Officer.
Baxter graduated CSU-Pueblo Nursing School in 2005. She has served as an RN in Med/Surg and Orthopedics, and a Nurse Manager of 5E for the past 8 years.
Baxter’s goals as the Director of 1 West include improving the patient experience by providing highly specialized care from a dedicated team of Orthopedic nurses in a new, state-of-the-art facility. Additionally, she aims to increase the volume of total joint replacement surgeries performed at Parkview each year and hopes to offer more patients the opportunity to improve their mobility and quality of life through expanded education programs.
When she is not at the hospital, Baxter enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, running, paddle boarding and yoga, along with cooking and baking.
