Your Parkview physicians will expertly monitor you at all stages to ensure you’re always on a care plan that helps you achieve optimal post-treatment recovery and health.

Brain & Spine Services & Treatments

You can find a wide range of brain and spine services and treatments at Parkview Medical Center, such as:

Sophisticated EEG & EMG Monitoring

Your doctor may recommend an electroencephalogram (EEG) or electromyogram (EMG) to test you for certain neurological or neuromuscular conditions. An EEG measures your brain’s electrical activity and is helpful in diagnosing and monitoring conditions such as epilepsy. An EMG measures the electrical activity in your nerves and muscles and can help your doctor diagnose neuromuscular conditions such as multiple sclerosis.

Depending on your condition or medical situation, you can get EEG and EMG services on an inpatient basis or as an outpatient. To schedule an outpatient EEG or EMG appointment, call 719.584.4462.

Minimally Invasive Brain & Spine Surgery

Whenever possible, your Parkview neurosurgeon or orthopedic surgeon will use minimally invasive techniques to treat your brain or spine condition. This means you may benefit from less pain and scarring and a quicker recovery time.

Comprehensive Neurological Rehabilitation

Recovering from traumatic brain injury or a spine condition takes time. But you can rely on Parkview’s comprehensive rehabilitation services to get you back to the activities you love as quickly as possible. Your rehabilitation plan may include:

  • Occupational therapy – Improves daily function, such as driving ability, cooking, eating, etc., through the use of exercises and adaptive equipment to make tasks easier to complete
  • Physical therapy – Builds strength and restores agility through specialized exercises
  • Speech therapy – Redevelops speech and swallowing abilities
