Computed Tomography (CT)

Committed to better patient care by reducing patient dose. We are well known in the community for our exceptional patient care, quality of service and for our highly experienced patient friendly staff. Many thousands of satisfied patients have been served by Parkview Imaging Center since 1995. We are certain that you will find your experience at our office much more convenient and efficient than any other facility in town. What does “Low Dose” mean and why is it important? Exposure to radiation, from any source, can build up over time and can increase the risk of tumors or other medical issues in a small percentage of the population. Our goal is to adhere to the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle, i.e. to use the lowest possible dose to obtain the required diagnostic image quality. The CT scanner that Parkview Imaging Center has purchased from Siemens uses patented technology which enables a 40-60 percent lower dose of radiation without a loss in image quality.

What does PIC offer you over hospital-based CT scanners?

Ease of Scheduling

No recorded messages. Knowledgeable and courteous schedulers answer the phone right away and are ready to assist you in scheduling your exam. We recognize that you have your own busy schedule and we try our best to accommodate your needs by offering extended weekday hours, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am-1:00 pm.

Easy Access

Parking is right outside our front door. Our facility is conveniently located and easy to find whether you are coming from out of town or from your doctors’ office.

In and Out Quickly

No “check-ins” at a separate admissions desk. Our check in is easy and quick and most appointments are from 15-30 minutes in length. You won’t waste time in a waiting room and you won’t get “bumped” by an in-patient. You can have your scan done over lunch or before or after work without taking time off from your job. We even accommodate unusual working schedules, just ask our schedulers.

Superior Patient Satisfaction

When asked about their experience at Parkview Imaging Center, our patients had many positive comments:
“The staff who work here are friendly and knowledgeable.”
“Prompt and Courteous.”
“Private. People very nice. Thank You!”
“Quick scheduling, very friendly staff.”
“ Location is great and staff is friendly.”
“Friendliness and ease of getting in & out quickly.”

What is a Computed Tomography(CT) Scan?

A computed tomography scan, also known as a computerized axial tomography(CAT) scan, is a noninvasive procedure that uses targeted x-rays with the aid of a computer to create detailed cross-sectional images of the inside of the body. A CT scan is frequently used to evaluate the brain, neck, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis and sinuses.

When should I arrive for my scan?

You should arrive 10-15 minutes before your exam to provide time for our staff to greet you and help you fill out any necessary paperwork.

What happens after my scan?

There are no lasting affects from a diagnostic CT exam. You may move around and drive immediately after your procedure.

When will I get my results?

Parkview Imaging Center provides a 24-hour turnaround time on all interpretations. The final results will be given to your referring physician as soon as the images are interpreted and analyzed by one of our subspecialty-trained radiologists. Your doctor will share the results with you.
