Parkview Neurosurgery

COVID-19 Update:

Parkview Neurosurgery is seeing in-person appointments on an as-needed basis. Dr. Lu is offering telemedicine appointments. The office hours are reduced to Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 4pm at this time.

Our surgical care team is experienced to provide our patients the latest in surgical care options. We use minimally invasive techniques to aide our patients to a faster recovery. Through minimally invasive microdiscectomies, cervical and lumbar fusions, and kyphoplasties, we our able to make smaller incisions, facilitate muscle dilation instead of cutting, and limit patient blood loss reducing the amount of time our patients spend recovering.

Our physicians are dedicated to providing immediate care for neurosurgical brain and spine trauma right here in Pueblo; increasing the opportunity for recovery of activities and function.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Parkview Neurosurgical Services only provide surgical treatment for patients?

At Parkview Neurosurgical Services, we are dedicated to use the best treatments available for our patients. We practice both surgical and non-surgical treatment for the best possible outcomes.

What are the treatment options available to the elderly population suffering from osteoporotic fracture or stenosis?

Dependent on the patient condition and symptoms, we can provide non-surgical or surgical treatment. Bracing, kyphoplasty (cement injected into the bone microscopically), and minimally invasive fusion are just a few options.

Are all of your surgical treatments minimally invasive?

Although we strive to perform most of our surgical treatments through a minimally invasive approach, some patient conditions require an approach through a more invasive, but milder than traditional approach, for more effective treatment and the best outcome.

How can the referring physician be included in the treatment for our patients?

Our patients and their outcomes are very imporatnt to us at Parkview Neurosurgical Services. We understand that their long term care is dependent on our referring physicians. Our referring physicians remain in communication throughout evaluation and diagnosis both pre- and post- operatively to achieve excellent care. We are available to our referring physicians at all times and maintain great relationships.
