About Jennifer FitzPatrick

My interest in sports medicine began in college, when I was the starting midfielder for the University of New Mexico’s soccer team. As one of the top scorers and assist leaders, I earned All-Conference and Academic All-American honors. The pressure and team spirit of sports prepared me to excel at orthopedic surgery, as I love getting patients back in the arena. During my fellowship time at the University of Colorado, I served as team physician for CU Boulder football and basketball teams as well as Denver University lacrosse and hockey. Currently, I provide advanced treatment and surgical options for patients with a wide range of injuries, with a focus on conditions of the shoulder and knee. I serve as team physician for the CSU- Pueblo Thunderwolves. I also care for the aging shoulder and knee with options of shoulder and knee replacement.

Hobbies and Interests: 

Running, coaching young athletes, skiing, spending time with my family in the Colorado outdoors, WFPB nutrition, covering rodeo events.

Why did you become a doctor?

I’ve always had a calling for medicine, but my path towards orthopedics began as an athlete and patient. Ultimately, I had surgery that helped me return to my senior year of college athletics. That experience is one of my driving motivations to understand and have greater compassion with my patients.

The only thing anyone could have done better would be to hire as much like this staff as you could. From the receptionist to the doctors to the assistants, it is one of the kindest, most caring offices we have visited.

X-rays did not show up on computer during office visit. Doctor used my MRI results to diagose my knee. The x-rays could have shown more up-to- date results of knee.

Nothing. I have been consistently pleased with my experience with Dr. Fitz. and her coworkers and front desk staff. She has gotten me through a very difficult orthopedic problem. A general suggestion would be for you to refer to physicians/NPs/PAs as "clinicians" NOT "providers". This term is extremely demeaning to those of us who take care of patients.

You know, I really like Jennifer Fitzpatrick, I like to staff there. I always feel better when I come out. However, your your survey here is a little annoying because it came to my email and when I clicked on it, it would not take me to the page in order to do the survey. So right now you're kind of interrupting supper, but I'm trying to get this done, so that would be the only complain I have is your IT Department survey process online. 1) Respect for patient's time. I waited more than 45 minutes after the preliminary intake (blood pressure etc.) In earlier appointment waited more than 30 minutes. (Neither time was the delay mentioned or apology made.) 2) If treatment of suggested treatment is dictated by BMI chart say that up front before the appointment so the patient can decide whether it is worth the expense to schedule a visit.

I believe that the front staff, the ones that check you win. The one on the right. I don't know her name. She was younger not older. There was two of them, one was older, one was a little bit younger of say she's probably in her 40's, maybe high 30's. You could tell that she was not polite. She was ... she just seemed like she had an attitude. The older lady. She was good. But the younger one, she just seemed like she had an attitude and didn't want to be there. Just gave me, you know, an awkward vibe. That's pretty much it.

The nurse needs to use a manual BP cuff...not an battery powered wrist cuff, they are notoriously inaccurate. She was told to come back in and retake my BP manually and she never came back...I ended up leaving after waiting 25 min post vist w/ Dr Fitzpatrick.... with an inaccurate BP in my chart.

Just the wait time. I was scheduled at 1:30 and I didn't get in Until out of the waiting room until 2:30. So if that was kind of took a little bit longer, but I know they're busy, but that was just kind of a long wait time in the lobby.

On 2 separate occasions I have gone in for my scheduled appointment and the staff did not have me on the schedule. This is extremely frustrating and time consuming. Lastly, on my last appointment I waited 1 hour 15 minutes in examining room before I was seen by the doctor. This made me miss two other appointments that I had scheduled for the afternoon.

The staff and doctor were amazing, I would just recommend. a summary of all of the terminology talked about in the appointment, there were some big words and night things that this one and pretty much one ear and out the other because it was just too physicals of words to remember.

Appointment time, my time was at 10:30. I didn't get seen until almost actually it's 11:30 almost a quarter until. So definitely we need to you guys. Definitely need to improve in your wait time for our appointments.If they're a 10: 30, 11:30 is not acceptable.
