About Lucas King
Dr. Lucas King is a sports fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon with a special interest in the care of athletes at the high school, collegiate and professional level as well as weekend warriors. Dr. King provides a wide range of orthopedic care and specializes in disorders of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee, performing minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery. He also performs joint replacement for arthritis. Dr. King serves as a team physician for CSU-Pueblo athletics.
Dr. King completed an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama where he trained with world-renowned orthopedic surgeons Dr. James Andrews, Dr. Lyle Cain, Dr. Jeff Dugas, and Dr. Benton Emblom. He was the assistant team physician for Auburn University football and Shades Valley High School football. Dr. King also assisted in care for athletes from University of Alabama, the Birmingham Barons minor league baseball team, WWE wrestling and the Birmingham Ballet.
Previous to his fellowship, Dr. King earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA. He then completed his residency at Stony Brook University Hospital on Long Island (NY) where he provided orthopedic coverage for several local high school football teams, as well as for the Stony Brook University hockey team.
Dr. King is an avid basketball player, cyclist and snowboarder. In his time outside of his practice, Dr. King enjoys spending time with his family.
