About Mark Maurer

Dr. Mark Maurer is board certified in foot and ankle surgery with extensive experience in a wide range of foot and ankle conditions and treatments. He has particular experience in advanced procedures such as minimally invasive surgeries and total ankle joint replacements.  He prioritizes educating his patients on their conditions and the conservative and surgical treatment options. Patient satisfaction and optimal healing are his top goals.

He was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He received his doctorate degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia where was qualified for memberships into the Stirling-Harford-DiPrimio Honorary Anatomical Society and Pi Delta National Podiatry Honor Society.

Following podiatric medical school, Dr. Maurer completed a three year foot and ankle surgical residency at Crozer Medical Center near Philadelphia, PA. He received extensive training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, trauma, limb salvage and wound care. Two months were spent in the International Limb Lengthening Center at The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, MD where he received additional training in complex reconstructive correction of adult and pediatric limb deformities with emphasis on external fixation.

While chief resident, Dr. Maurer was selected to represent the Podiatry Department at Crozer Medical Center to receive Physician-Patient Satisfaction training which he, in turn, delivered to all attendings and residents. This training has helped improve his relationship with his patients, gaining a better understanding of how to help them understand and follow through with the care being given. It has added to the quality and satisfaction of their care.

Dr. Maurer is an avid runner and completed his first marathon in St. George, UT in 2016. He especially enjoys spending time outdoors and playing sports with his wife, two daughters and son. He has been practicing in Pueblo since 2012 and has enjoyed living in Southern Colorado and considers it a privilege to provide foot and ankle care in this area.

Dr. Maurer specializes in the following:

  • Minimally-invasive bunion and hammertoe surgery

I am Deaf, and the gal at the front office was nice, but pretty insistent that I wear a mask. We all need to move on with our lives...

Yeah, this is Alfred Montoya. I forgot I was going to leave a comment and now I can't remember what it was. It was nothing bad. It was just a suggestion but I can't remember. Sorry about that. Okay, it's all good. Bye.

There was absolutely nothing that could of been done better. I was informed of everything on a call before the appointment by a very nice lady who let me know to show up early for XRays. I got there and got right in before I could sit down. XRays were quick with another quality interaction with the X-ray tech who really seemed to know what they were doing. Went over to y'alls office, had me filling out paperwork and once again called me in right as I sat down which was amazing. The tech/nurse whatever he was, he was amazing as well. Wasn't the normal robotic experience I get other places where it doesn't seem like they aren't listening to you just did nodding their heads between their own questions. He also seemed super eager to learn which was amazing amounts of refreshing to see. The doc came in quickly and explained everything to me in language I could understand without talking down to me, he could tell I had been through he wringer with this injury and was super empathetic and it felt like he really took ownership over the problem and gave me some concrete answers and time frames which was the first time since the injury anyone's been able to give me actual answers with the promise of more answers to come. I have been to many doctors and doctors offices having been a caregiver for multiple elderly family members and myself having a multitude of issues and this is by far the best place Ive had the pleasure of working with, I look forward to my next appointment!

It's very important that I feel listened to and that my opinion or my facts about my own illness or whatever it is is heard, understood and at least respected. So for the whole staff was just wonderful and I would recommend them to anybody, anytime. Thank you.

This office of Dr. Maurer is absolutely fantastic. Every appointment I have ever had has been timely has been, he is attentive. His staff is attentive. The only thing would be to remind patients if they need an x-ray before coming in. Just maybe a reminder call the day or two before the appointment that says, remember to go get your X-ray and that's it. I would highly recommend him and I have been extremely pleased over the last 2 years that I have been going to that office. Thank you.

I felt listened to and as though there was a sense of urgency. I really appreciated how serious my injury was taken and how quickly I was moved from appointment to surgery. I have nothing, but good things to do about this practice!

Each interaction with this office has been great! Marie was so kind and you could hear her smiling thru the phone, Zeke was kind and very professional while doing my vitals, Dr. Mauer explained things so that I could understand them and put my mind at ease to explain the cause of my condition and the surgical procedure to redolve them! Courtney was very efficient and able to get me scheduled for surgery quickly! You have a great team!

the x-ray wait was too long in a tiny waiting room with not enough chairs. it was hot and uncomfortable especially to those of us in pain. Plz have staff enforce NO CELL PHONE conversations in the waiting room. Also why can't i just go to the hospital for an xray?

It would have been great if someone would have mentioned to get things like a stool and cast cover to shower after the surgery.

It was a good visit. I'm just a slow healer I guess. My first visit was really quick, the Dr. Was in and out quick. The rest of my returning visits have been much better. I would refer the Dr. To my friends. I'm glad the waiting to see him when you arrive isn't along time as some other Drs in their practice do. Thank you

Don't refer me to Parkview for xrays. They were slow (over an hour) almost making me late for my appointment. Luckily I had come really early. They had told me it should be quick that time in the morning.

Took way too long to see doctor. I was in the room for 40 min after the nurse came in. I know things come up but the appointment took almost two hours with the majority of it being me waiting

The front desk is very rude, I was harassed about bringing a MRI and x-ray disc and the doctor didn't even touch it. Also, the doctor didn't take any time to learn about my disease or how that treat it and gave me some hippie way of treating things with vitamin D, which will not help my condition. I will not recommend this doctor, I will not talk to the front desk ever again. I'm very unpleased.

Introducing himself would have been nice when he entered the room. It was the first time being at his office. That tiny moment to connect at a person not just a patent means a lot to me and hardly ever happens.

One of the answers I pressed a zero was supposed to be a 10 because I think that Dr. Maurer's office and all his staff was one great and very attentive people they took care of you greatly and they treated you very well and actually treated me very well and my family. When they were with me, I appreciate that. That staff and doctor they did a very good job for me.

The X-ray clinic was not prepared for me. Gave me the wrong paperwork, etc. But in the end they got my x-rays completed and to the doctor. So all was good.

The doctor did not discuss his suggestion of treatment. I was simply handed and item and then later, when I got home I found out a prescription had been assigned to me, but was not ever told why or what to do with it. The whole meeting with the doctor left me with the feeling I was just a source of income to the physician, not a patient of concern.

Maybe providing that we could come by and pick up to fill out the papers that information. That'd be the only thing that I might suggest. Otherwise, it was an overall ten. Thank you.
