Biography

Dr. Paula Dionisio, a Pueblo native and graduate of Central High School, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 3 years before attending Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Dionisio then completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the esteemed Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Dionisio specializes in colon cancer screening, liver disease, and all gastrointestinal disorders, including reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and Celiac Sprue, and provides a wide variety of non-invasive treatments.

There could have been no improvement!! Dr. Dionisio is what doctor should be!! I actually look forward to my appointments with her!! If all our doctors were even a tiny bit like our Dr. Dionisio, we would have a wonderful medical system in this country. She is so completely thorough in her conversations with her patients. She never breaks eye contact unless she just has to... for computing or reaching for something. She always knows exactly what the visit is for and how it needs to be either resolved or addressed and also, always in very short order! I love that I even got to meet her, as a person, never mind how great she is with her medical knowledge!!! She is what other medical personnel should aspire to, and we so appreciate her!!!!

You have my history. I've been in that office before. I don't know why I had to have an appointment which charged me $50 co-pay and I'm on a limited income because of the specialist when I need a colonoscopy and I've had numerous colonos colonoscopies. I just don't think that I needed that appointment it just was information that we already doctor knew I knew... just unnecessary.

I just wish I could of spent more time with the doctor cause she explained everything real well and... I acutally hung up, there was a lot more questions I wanted to ask but overall, I'm doing okay, and I appreciate everybody's help.

I'm not tech savvy and I could have used more precise instructions for connecting on zoom. I had a audio problem and struggled to hear the doctor. They were aware of my problem, but unable to help me correct the issue.

I was it was okay. It was a phone call. It would be much better. If we were allowed to do in person visits with her doctors that Dr. Dionisio answered all my questions and I was satisfied with what I was told and she was very professional.

As usual the visits are always very very thorough and accurate and friendly complete understanding of my medical history even a planning a plan for what we might consider in the future. I'm always thoroughly satisfied with my visits with Dr. Dionisio.

I need to explain my responses. I have been a patient of Dr. Dinesio many times. However through no fault of hers I had problems with a phone appointment. While an assistant called the morning of my phone appointment to ask questions before I would talk to the doctor she said while my appt. was 10:15 the doctor was running early and my call would probably come about 10:00 from her undisclosed # from home. I was taking a shower a little after 9:00 when my phone rang. After getting out of the shower I saw it was from and undisclosed # so i checked voice mail in case it was her. She's said to call the hospital and let them know when I would be available. I called the # her assistant called me from, said i dont know who to talk to but the doctor asked me to let someone know when i would be available. I was simply sent to a recorded directory of choices. I clicked on the doctors ext. thinking her assistant or someone knowing something would be available to talk to. The recording said this is not a working ext. do not leave a message. I thought maybe there was a mistake or a different ext. i should try. The person answering that time did the same thing and without a word sent me to the same ext. The 3rd or 4th try to get someone to actually talk to me someone answered and I again described what I needed. She asked my name and put me on hold a few minutes and said they doctors assistant was on the phone. I waited all day by the phone but obviously the doctor wasn't given my information and the assistant didnt ever contact me. I live in the mountains and have trouble with computer connections so I dont even try to use the patient portal. Maybe just an email would work. I have asked previously to just be mailed my reports. I think VERY highly of Dr. Diniseo but have frustration with the staff at times (like calling me late on Friday I had to have a Covid test with only 1 day to do it before surgery. I had to drive 3 hour round trip to the clinic and as I was getting out of the car to go in I got a phone call saying I didnt need one!). I hope this explains why I made some of the responses on this email. They had nothing to do with the doctor.

Yes, I have a hard time with the fact that I have to wait another month and a half to be able to find out what's been making me so sick. I been sick for quite a while and another month and a half is pretty unbearable. So that's a concern for me.

I have been seeing Dr.Dionisio for many years. She and her staff have always been wonderful. I don't see any areas for improvement.

Dr. Dionisio is wonderful. She listens, cares and provides excellent recommendations for improved health. She, as well as Coral Martinez are the best. While I was waiting to go in, a woman came into the waiting room. She had a mask on and asked if she had to wear it, then told the receptionist she had a note from her doctor saying she didn't have to wear it, and removed her mask. She had a horrible cough that made me very uncomfortable, especially since she didn't worry much about trying to cover her mouth. When I came out from my doctor's visit, she was next up to see Dr. Dionisio, and was coughing even worse. I don't think it is appropriate to expose the staff, or patients, to people who spread their germs (coronavirus or other) without concern for others. I know it's very hard to deal with that type of behavior, but something needs to be done to protect your providers.

This is absolutely the most professional team of medicine I have ever seen - they are accurate, they are friendly, they are helpful, they know what they're doing and that doctor is absolutely magnificent - I would recommend her to anybody anytime.

The experience overall was really great. I'd like Dr. Dionisio and her nurse practitioner, but the front office staff was not very friendly almost a little rude. So with that if that could be improved in the overall experience would be better.

In the reception area, some of the staff should be trained to be courteous with everybody, no matter who the patients are. Perhaps, would be good idea To point out that having patients, is the reason they can have a job!

Receptionist wanted me to sign something electronically that she didn't explain. Just said sign this.

The secretary used an ear thermometer instead of a point and shoot and had a hard time getting it into my ear canal. Maybe more training or since Covid is an issue, just use a point and shoot.
