COVID-19 Resources

Make a Difference, Give a Donation

Leslie BarnesIn the past year, the Parkview Foundation was able to help 19 students continue their education in the health care field. This allows Parkview Medical Center to continue our mission of providing the highest quality of care to the people we serve.

The 19 health care scholarships awarded in 2019 was our largest number since the program started in 1984. The recipients included community students and employees of the medical center.

It is our hope we can continue to expand by offering additional scholarships not only for clinical disciplines bot for other support specialties. These scholarships are impactful for students. As we have learned from past recipients, this support is the only way some students can complete their degree while working part-time or full-time.

Through our enhanced partnerships with Pueblo Community College and Colorado State University - Pueblo, both institutions have been able to expand the number of students enrolled in their nursing schools, with a vision of recruiting local students who are motivated to stay in our community and care for their neighbors and loved ones.

This holiday season I encourage you to make a gift to our scholarship program. Your gift can be in memory of a loved one or as a holiday tribute to honor a family member or friend. In addition, contributions of $1,000 or more are recognized on a tile on our donor wall. Regardless of the amount, the impact of every donation is significant.

Best wishes for safe, healthy and happy holidays,

Leslie Barnes
